The passion for rochester
It was Douglass who was instrumental in the publication of the then revolutionary newspaper, the North Star. Susan B. Anthony is yet another one of Rochester NY's most recognizable figures, and it was through her efforts that the University of Rochester began admitting female students in 1900. To this very day Susan B. Anthony remains a source of pride for residents of Rochester NY, and no tour of the city would be complete without a stop at the house which stands in her honor on Madison Street.
